In a way they do...
Silva, Gündogan, De Bruyne = 3 world class creative central midfielders.
With Götze gone (even though one wouldn't rate him after his Bayern stint), Bayern only have Thiago left in that position and so far he has been disappointing in most of the critical games, even though he has great potential.
Bayern lack the creativity and explosiveness of inducing forward plays as both Vidal (proven) and Sanches (potentially) are great players overall, but also both lack the ability to suprisingly surpass at least 1 (sometimes 2 or more) opponents with a well-timed quick turnaround move or a through ball.
Not saying they CAN'T do that, but the 3 City players I mentioned are leagues above them with regards to offensive play.
Bayern squad is deeper in both offense and defense (especially City's defense doesn't even come close, i.e. you can't call a defense "deep" where not even all starters are good enough for UCL imo), but in (creative) CM, City "wins".
Should Thiago be injured or just disappoint like he did last year, Bayern could get in serious trouble in the more important games in UCL due to their lack of CAMs. Teams probably have learned and will manage to keep the typical wing plays under control.
Really ?
Noyer - world class - cant be compared to bravo.
Bernat + Alaba + lahm = 3 world class full backs. Shitty has none.
Central defense : Boateng, hummels, badstuber, martinez, pound for pound far better than anything city has. Vincent is glass made, otamendi solid but far from world class (especially in possesion)
Midfield : Vidal, xabi, thiago, kimmik, sanchez, martinez, - compared to delph (lol) Fernando (double lol) Fernandinho (decent, still not an enforcer), gundogan (injury prone, too early to tell), yaya (dead lol), kdb (stellar offensively, 0 defensive duties.).
Wingers are far better than anything shitty has (remember shitty have navas ?), 2-3 per position.
Lewa still best striker with back to goal/at keeping possesion and one touch/one-twos. Aguero offers threat by movement, i however would rate lewa well over him. Both teams are very reliant on their strikers, if any of the forementioned two get injured, their teams will struggle (dont give me the icheanacho bullshit - he cant carry a team a season long - although great sub).
Overall Bayern is ages ahead of city in terms of depth per position. Naming a single spot from first 11 where they have 2 players - xabi, thiago and rating the team under City is pure ignorance.
