he has only 47 bundesliga games under his belt. tho around 1 mill for every bundesliga game :P
i say another year at schalke would be the better choice, but whatever. he certainly has world class genes, mother gymnast, father footballer ^^
inb4 b4anal: "b-b-but he's senegal guy because his father was born there..."
the problem i see is that although i think he's highly gifted, he will have a hard time being a starter for several reasons: first of all, it's a completely new team and he will not be the wunderkind there with his manager making adjustments in the team to play to his strengths. that being said, expectations and pressure that come with such a price tag and such promise will still be extremely high. also, he didn't have to manage his first major crisis yet, no one knows how he will handle it but one thing is certain, he won't get too much real patience (maybe a pep statement like "he's worldclass, i never had a more talented player, i wish i had 11 sanés..." - and then bench him for the rest of the season) at a club filled with stars like city. you either deliver or you're out and they spend 50M next transfer window to buy a new talent...
i would much rather have seen him at arsenal for example. although i think wenger is holding the club back massively, for a player like sané it would have been the ideal environment imo. a manager who enjoys developing prospects with much patience and won't just drop them if they don't perform right away...
ofc i could be completely wrong and sané will play plenty, successfully, will score and assist right away and develop into a world class player in just 2 years but it's not a very likely scenario imo and therefore a very risky move so early in his carreer...
