I'm sure you'd enjoy it today in Madrid, now that the heatwave has struck:

But hey, at least it's not Córdoba. My father is there for business today, and he replied to my image with this one from right outside his hotel:

It's because it's beneath the sun, obviously it's not 55.

Not sure what it says online. Officially according to the media here it's 40 in Madrid and 46 in Córdoba.

e: also, precise weather measurements can vary, depending on how much light/heat is reflected from the buildings on a certain area, if there's any sort of shadow, how much traffic there is, etc. Some parts of Córdoba might be at 44 and others at 47.

Think all the english would agree it's far to fucking hot in either area tbf. We hit 30 a couple of weeks ago and my face melted.

Yeah, it's too hot in both places. Normally I'm ok up to 35 degrees, beyond that it's pretty bad. It also depends on the level of humidity... I'd take 37 degrees in Madrid over 32 in Mallorca. In Madrid you can always search for a shadow (which is noticeably cooler), but in Mallorca the humidity makes temperature almost homogeneous in both the sun and shade. It's also stickier, which is a no-no... although you do have the sea near by to instantly cool down ^^
