oops ^_^
i am wondering why you bring up the time issue though, the german ref stated after the game that canceling the griezmann goal took his video assistent not even 20 seconds, while everyone was still celebrating
and the players accepted the decision immediately
i dont think i need to tell a regular la liga watcher how much time the standard referee swarming consumes until the game can continue
and about soft penalty calls
make it like in american football, where the video guys need to be sure that the referee made a mistake
if not the call of the ref stands
idk, like I said I didn't watch the game, but I read it was around a minute of time wasted (maybe it was on Deulofeu's goal?)
And just because referee swarming wastes time it doesn't mean we should add more timewasting things. I'm very much against referee swarming and time wasting in general, which is why I liked the suggestions Van Basten made on the topic a few months ago.
I have no idea how american football works, so I won't judge that, but it's a sport that plays out much differently, with lots of time stopping and commercials. I don't think the video guys should ever be able to overturn the refs decision, even if he makes a mistake... if this technology ends up being implemented in serious games, it should be the ref that asks for assistance when he deems it necessary (so it's him that decides when to use it and so minimize the obstruction of gameplay).

Well, the "it was my father that handled my taxes, I knew nothing about it" excuse worked so...
