So, Atlético has now signed Vietto for 20M€ (confirmed by Villarreal's president) and Jackson Martínez for 35M€ (confirmed by the player's agent). This will definetely make a great attacking line along with players like Griezmann and Turan.

And even though it's a good signing, I don't understand why they went for Jackson though. They could have gone for his fellow countryman Bacca, who imo is better, cheaper (30M€ release clause) and is already proven in the league.

I'm glad they didn't though, it would be bad for the league if Atlético fed on Sevilla.

Anyway, looks like Atleti is building a solid team. If they can find a quality midfielder and a good defender or 2 then this could be a very good season for them.

to be fair, they were already having a more than solid team
they are on the verge to be an absolute top team

Yeah, I agree. Solid wasn't the right word to use, I meant it like they are indeed building a team that's getting close to the standard of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Didn't they sell Miranda to Inter for something ridiculously cheap?

The Miranda Godin backline was

Jackson doesn't make sense already having Vietto and Griezmann, all three can't play together.

They sold him for 15M€, which is quite a bit considering he's about to be 31.

Giménez has been doing really well in the CB position aswell, it looks like he has a great future ahead of him and will do a good job at replacing Miranda (he was in fact played ahead of Miranda in a decent amount of games during the second half of the season). They also have Emiliano Velázquez (yet another promising uruguayan CB) that has been doing well on loan with Getafe.

As for the attacking line, I'm not sure hoe Cholo will set it up, but if these are the players he asked for while already having Correa, Arda, Griezmann and Torres, I do think it's likely that we will see a more offensive 3 men front line.

i guess he noticed that defending and waiting for some corner/free kick isnt enough
will be exciting to see next season

Oh, I wasn't aware Miranda was that old, I pegged him for something around 25 and just looked really fucked up in the face haha.
