you make some fair points, dortmund obviously always had potential as a football club / city but still, saying it's a "given" considering where they came from is a huge overestimation. hamburg and schalke maybe even berlin and köln also have the potential to be great football clubs, much better than they are currently but they don't have klopp... he really made them what they are today and that was not an easy task or a natural development at all imo...

im certainly not disregarding klopps management ability.I think its fair to say he looks like one of the best young managers on the market right now, and yeah i was abit harsh saying a given ! i know the top 4 or 5 are fairly competitive

the point simply is that dortmund looks to have (at least) the 2nd place locked for years to come and that exactly THIS IS klopps achievement!

overall i'd say dortmund ~ liverpool, but klopp > rodgers

btw: klopp has won the german league twice (which is no easy feat in a league with bayern and very competitive 3rd-7th place teams!)
klopp has won the german cup
klopp has placed second twice
klopp has been to a cl-final with a "small" club. (compared to the other cl-semifinal-regulars like real, barca, bayern, chelsea and so on....)

achievements of rodgers: has placed second once.

ofc rodgers had less time with liverpool, so he might be able to have comparable success in the future, but right now, this is far from guaranteed.

wages and history wise liverpool, what player cares about history though? leaves the money part
everything else --> dortmund

why do people think klopp>rodgers?

Personally i really rate rodgers, dont get me wrong klopp is doing a great job too. But getting dortmund second ? its pretty much a given in that league... whos gonna steal it off them someone like shalke?  Compared to getting liverpool second and back into CL football ...

we'll see where liverpool finishes this year, imho they do not have a top 4 squad
klopp always managed making the best out of the team (losing players, injuries etc.)
your argument about sleeping giant might be true but it ain't no difference to liverpool though, is it?

Dortmund starting XI > Liverpool's starting XI
Everything else Liverpool

Also, these Klopp vs Rodgers arguments are silly considering Rodgers has had 2 seasons at Liverpool, the first of which they were piss poor in almost every department.

Then for the time being Klopp>Rodgers, Rodgers is Moyes compared to Klopp.

nope definitely no difference to liverpool.

Im disappointed with liverpools activity in the transfer window so far.. it looks like bar a miracle liverpool wont make top4 next season unless they make a big signing before the window shuts
