you've obviously absolutely no knowledge of russia's economic welfare system, which i suggest you research before posting that as the reason they deserve the WC
fyi they arent a member of the oeec, they dont divulge as they arent obliged accurate statistics regarding the welfare of their citizens; if you knew anything about economic history, or more broadly history in general, you would have some sort of awareness towards russian censorship from the late nineteenth century onwards

as for 'we shouldnt be wasting our money' that just proves you know nothing about the economic benefits of hosting such an event and the money it would have generated in those poor areas you earlier dismissed so quickly

if you're going to come and post stating that you're english and glad we didnt get the WC, at least come with a better argument than ENGLAND IS CRAP

Well economics is a blatant weak point for me. People are good at different subjects, for me it would be art, physics and motorcycle engineering. Economics is quite boring.
