if im wrong the offside rule needs to go back to what it was anyway, offside means offside.

in what way? he didn't block the keeper's line of sight, he didn't draw a defender, he didn't interfere in any way. in MY opinion it's a textbook passive offside position. you could also clearly see the linesman in the background from one of the camera angles, and he seems to agree. he only lifts the flag after firmino's ball hits the woodwork.

former ref on bt sport said no offside. afaik the new rules even state sth. like playing the ball or preventing an opponent from playing the ball.

otherwise you can always make stuff up. Mane moved his eyes towards Leno, he influenced the play
