As an American, it stings a bit, but its for the better of the team. We are trying to get younger and he wasn't helping with that.

On a side note, Bale not in the lineup for this evening

Yeah, he wasn't to bad at all last season imo

" The president of Ligue 1 club Toulouse believes in-demand midfielder Etienne Capoue is poised to join Tottenham.

The 24-year-old France international has already been linked with Barclays Premier League club Cardiff and Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid but, in an interview with French radio station RMC, Olivier Sadran appeared to suggest Spurs have stolen a march on their rivals.

When asked about Capoue's departure to White Hart Lane, Sadran is quoted in L'Equipe as telling RMC: "He will go there."

Capoue, who plays as a defensive midfielder but can slot in at center-back, scored seven goals in 34 league appearances for Toulouse last season.

Reports in France suggest Spurs will have to pay 11million euros plus two million in add-ons to land the Frenchman, who could sign a four-year contract after passing a medical in north London.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas has already signed Brazilian playmaker Paulinho, Belgian winger Nacer Chadli and Spain striker Roberto Soldado while Spurs look to fend off Real Madrid's advances for Wales midfielder Gareth Bale."

Qutoed off of fox soccer, but I've been seeing similar reports around as well. anything know much about this lad? You think we will play him at more of a CB role since he is apparently comfortable there

This guy is basically going to be a squad player as we are getting rid of Parker and Huddlestone and need a back up CB

Seems like he can bring some creativity to the CB position when he needs to play there. Also sky just reported this:

Thoughts? If Bale stays, with this current squad we should have absolutely no problem finishing top 4

I agree but also very much depends on Arsenal getting Suarez or not, if they get him, they will be very good next season.

That's a fact. For our sakes lets hope Arsenal persists to be penny punching Arsenal.

Tottenham have drawn Dinamo Tblisi in the Europa League. If you haven't heard of them, they are a small club in North London.

B)

Dinamo Tbilisi is one of those clubs that were killed with the collpase of the soviet union, and later by the Bosman ruling. Even though I think georgian teams should play in Asia, I do feel sorry for what they've become; they used to produce some quality players and they won european tournaments (1 CWC and an EL I think, or just a CWC).
