Can't blame Dani tbh. Not only is he getting paid more, but at this point of his career when he as already won it all, where would you rather live: Paris or Manchester? :D

Vitolo to Las Palmas until January, then he'll be off to Atlético.

Since Atlético can't sign players now and Sevilla was unwilling to negotiate, Atlético has given Vitolo 40M€ so he could pay his own release clause and sign for Las Palmas (his hometown club) as a free agent on a 6 month contract. Sneaky guys ^^

And I have to say about Vitolo that, as much as I like him as a player, he has come out as quite a mercenary cunt. First he reached an agreement with Atlético for 3M€ per season. Then, while Atlético was "waiting" to give him the money, he sent his agent to engage in contract extension talks with Sevilla, and the agent agreed on a contract that raised Vitolo's wage to 4M€ per season and his release clause to 50M€. Sevilla's president then stupidly went to announce that he was proud to announce he had reached an agreement with Vitolo and that the new deal will be signed the following day when the player returns from his holidays. This prompted Atlético to rush a new deal, offering Vitolo 5M€ per season, and immediately give him the 40M€ needed to pay the release clause and get the whole deal finished

Sevilla is now going to sue Atlético because they claim that the agreement they had with the player's agent invalidates the operation, but it doesn't seem like they can do much since Vitolo didn't signe any contracts himself.
