Özil ends up playing left wing most of the time during the game, he seems to get his max potential out of that position, so if Cesc were to come, I can see Cesc getting the central role again

Nothing naive about it, cesc isn't the player that goes to a club for the money. When you cry while leaving arsenal, and get the chance to come back or go to the rivals, the decision is easly made.
