Karius should of asked to be subbed after Ramos elbowed him in the dome
1 minute later his blunder occurs....
I know players don't accept coming off, especially in a game of that magnitude, but it really cost his team
This reminded me on when Sahko got concussed, refused to be subbed and got destroyed/fell on the next play
Gone from Liverpool after that
just watched footage of ramos elbowing karius. fucking disgrace, that dirty cunt should be banned for ages. but we all know uefa will do jack shit about it, as usual.
that being said though, and i'm surprised that of all people i am the one pointing that out: i don't think that was the reason for karius' mistakes, he'll have to own them (and did so as far as i can tell), no excuses.
- the first one was just incredibly poor decisionmaking. a run-of-the-mill quick throw too close to the opponent. hell, you'd be mocked for that playing pick-up games in the park - but in a champions league final, a match that requires your full focus every single second, this is just inexcusable. ofc it bounced perfectly off benzema's foot and in that regard it was somewhat lucky, but obviously you can never allow him that opportunity.
- the second one was just poor goalkeeping and again a lack of focus. balls moving all over the place is something goalkeepers are used to by now (even though we see the occasional howler), thats why many prefer to fist or palm them out (which is what he tried to but failed horribly).
the reason i don't think ramos' elbow affected him is that he made a couple of really great reflex saves between those mistakes, if he was seriously concussed that would have impacted those as well.

I hope Ukrainian separatists abduct Ramos and behead him.
just 2 minutes apart...
