I didnt know van Persie was a defender, i agree there wasnt any creativity but the defense was just horrible, havent seen THAT defense in a very long time, but i guess its because Rio and Vidic play since the start of the season. Moyes needs to rotate them with Evans/Jones/Smalling just like Fergie did, that went pretty good last season.

RvP is not a defender , but he is a heck of a player. Usually carries his whole team. Sorta like Drogba at Chelski or Galata. He doesnt need to come to the defence and get the ball from there because usually when he plays the team is so offensive that the defenders hardly get a change to mess up as the opponent does not have the ball long enough to attack.

Its as simple as that, the more you attack, the less you have to defend. Its the whole team mentality that gets affected when the power horse of the team is out. Rooney is no longer that and i doubt he wishes to be it again. His time has expired at United, they should have let him go and gotten someone else instead with the money he would have been sold. Also i think that he giggles a little every time that the team loses , just to see Moyes worry.

Furthermore i believe that Moyes record of not winning against the big teams in premiership still stands unbroken , right ? draw with chelski , lost vs liverpool and lost vs city. good manager!

Don't get what you're talking about. Rooney has been a powerhouse for United so far this season. I doubt he giggles when his team loses, as he was the only one last night battling to keep Manchester United in the game.

Wondering if the rumours of Robin hating Moyes are true, his absence today could had been another "injury".

in that case Moyes is gone soon enough

Andres Iniesta could spark a bidding war between Manchester United and Manchester City after declining the offer of a new contract at Barcelona.

The Barca playmaker is said to have refused a deal which would see him earn £200,000 a week at the Nou Camp, maintaining only Lionel Messi should be paid more than him at the club.

The 29-year-old, who has spent his entire career in the Catalan capital, could now be open to a January move to Manchester, where both David Moyes and Manuel Pellegrini would be sure to be interested in signing him.

Old Trafford chief Moyes has been on the lookout for a playmaker for some time having failed to land Iniesta’s Barca and Spain team-mate Cesc Fabregas this summer.
