absolutely, yes. and they would immediately improve the team massively. but would still leave some work to do in defense imo. whatever happened to the daley blind rumour?

They do need 2 new CBs too. I mean, if they're going to be overpaying for players all season they might as well pull a City/Chelsea and just get who they need now.

Rooney RVP
Mata
Januzaj Vidal Herrera Di Maria
Benatia Blind Jones
El Dave

that would be quite good.

He's really good defensively for a winger, we saw that when Carlo moved him centrally, he runs and runs and runs and runs. Would work perfectly imo.

thats what i would do as well, playing him more centrally

as a wingback he needs to stay on the touchline pretty much
i just think he is wasted there

if van gaal wants to keep his 3-5-2 they dont really need both di maria and vidal
i am not a friend of that system in general, because you are rather weak on the flanks

a 4-4-2 diamond would be pretty nice with di maria and vidal as enforcers and mata as number 10
and they would need only 2 center backs with that system

Rooney RVP
Mata
Januzaj Vidal Di Maria Blind
Rojo Benatia Jones
De Gea

how good is mata now? does he need a new formation or is his form just bad?

Shaw and Rafael are obviously gonna be the wing backs when fit.

He's not out of form, the team overall played bad. He said that he prefers this formation.
