well, if the hsv management is standing pat, Real couldn't do anything. Its not like Hsv could earn that big, if they sell him (half year contract). The only thing thats prolly worth it, is the wages that comes of the books. But 1 or 2 mill transfer fee ^_^

its an open secret, that Ruud wants to leave. But not sure, if Hsv can make it to Europe without him.

wouldn't surprise me, if they sell him, totally chaotic managemant at Hamburg for many years.

They didn't get Kaka or Cr7 immediately once they began pursuing them

Real Madrid TV presenter Andy May has sensationally claimed that Hamburg striker Ruud van Nistelrooy is set to join the Blancos and that an announcement will be made very soon.

The 34-year-old veteran has been linked with a return to his old club since last week and the player himself has claimed that he is ready to feature for Madrid once again.

Hamburg, though, were reluctant to let go of the Dutchman, whose contract with the German Bundesliga club expires at the end of the season.

However, it now appears that a deal has been struck, if May is to be believed.

"It's still not official but it looks like RVN is returning to #RealMadrid. Keep an eye on realmadrid.com for the announcement," said Real Madrid TV presenter on his twitter page andymaytvradio.

Earlier on Friday, Spanish sports daily Marca claimed that the Merengues had already made a formal bid of €2 million to Hamburg for the immediate transfer of Van Nistelrooy but reported that the German outfit had yet to respond.

UPDATE 2045 CET: Ruud Van Nistelrooy is playing for Hamburg tonight against Eintracht Frankfurt and has started in the Bundesliga encounter.

well, Hamburg played today, and their manager made it pretty clear in the interview after the game.

So either Real upping their offer tremendously or Ruud won't go nowhere.

Article says his contract expires at the end of the season?
If Real upped the offer Hamburg should sell and at least cash in somewhat before having him walk for nothing

If they should decide to let him go, i would milk the shit out of Real. Ruud seems their only option, the pressure is on Real. In the end Hsv must weigh up whats more important, some money or more guaranteed success.

but i wouldn't rule out that he gonna extend his contract after that. Where he should go after the season ? he is prolly ending his career anyway. Maybe 1 or 2 years left at max.
