Guess Moyes doesn't trust Evra.

that's odd considering he has been in quite good form all of last year and decent this year.

I know he is old and may need spelling, but wtf is Fabio there for then? and Buttner

Buttner was going out on loan, but it fell through I think.
Fabio can play on the left and the right as well and rather see him than Jones or Smalling as back up to Rafael.

Is the Coentrao deal confirmed? Media here is divided. Some say it's done but others say that they didn't do the paper work on time and the deal didn't go through...

hmm this is what i see on bbc sports

Spanish football writer Andy West: "Contradictory reports within Spain on the Fabio Coentrao situation. Some media claiming the United loan bid came through, others saying it was too late. Similarly with Madrid's attempts to sign Siqueira from Granada, who would be Coentrao's replacement.

"There's a suspicion that Madrid have learned their attempts to get Siqueira didn't make it, in which case they would not want Coentrao to leave and therefore will attempt to argue the United bid was too late.

Some sources here say that Madrid bought Siqueira and are now stuck with 3 LBs because the Coentrao deal didn't go through... lol this is all so confusing, guess we're going to have to wait for official info

He's one of the best LBs in the world. Unfortunately for Madrid he is (or was?) unhappy there, so it's best for them to let him go I guess... but on a loan rather than for a goood offer? I don't think Madrid wins much with this deal, although I do like Siquiera (obviously not as good as Coentrao, but at least he's commited).

I'm sure if he does well, United will make the deal permanent.

I agree. Herrera for more than 20M€ is ridiculous. At least Javi Martínez was consistent for Athletic; Ander has a few amazing games but then there are amny other games where he's useless.

well i'm not hating on martinez or anything. i like him, i really do. as a football player he convinced me he can be worth his ridiculous pricetag and as a person he certainly already is a great buy. i've hardly ever seen anyone so eager to learn (on and off the field) and put himself on the line for his team and teammates. plus he seems like a very nice and likeable person, at least that's the impression i get...
but i still think it wasn't the "smartest" buy from bayern. i'm aware that's a bold statement after they just won the treble and he was massive for them in the 2nd half of the season but i'm convinced they could have done that with luiz gustavo as well. and for bilbao it was certainly the deal of the century.

and as you said. martinez was at least consistent and good for bilbao, you could clearly see he has the potential for greater things while with herrera... (im obviously referring to their great run into the EL final last year) - he just did not shine like others imo. now much can happen with such a young player in that time but looking at his stats, and watching the weekly highlights from la liga, i just can't say that he's the player that springs to mind thinking about the certain next big thing from spain or anything, but you're obviously better suited to judge that... a talent for sure but worth buying him for that money now? hardly...
