Yeah, why is it every time Klopp is interested in a German player ze Germans big them up on here to the point where we get really excited and then they end up being average? Recent examples include Karius and Matip.

I do like Karius more than Matip though, I've always seen something in Karius that I liked a lot.

grats on your financial results.

without international games, its even more impressive <3

Qualifying for CL next would also be huge, considering the spendings, especially comapred to the big clubs

I haven't even thought about Coutinho since we lost to West Brom where I thought we missed him a bit. Testament to the team how they've continued a good run of form

As I was trying to explain to people here the day he left. We’re a much more balanced team without Coutinho. Our defensive record was shocking the games Coutinho played. Every collapse (example the Sevilla from 3-0 to 3-3 and Arsenal from 2-0 to 3-3) had Coutinho in it.

Even Klopp was saying it a few days ago in an interview. He also said that the team spirit is much better since Coutinho left and players are able to play more freely. Coutinho apparently demanded to have the ball played to him all the time.

Edit: Obviously VVD’s introduction has made a HUGE improvement to our defence aswell. But I still think Coutinho was an overall liability to our defensive game and balance in the team as a whole. We where too attack minded with SFM + Coutinho.

Have you got a source for the bolded, that's quite interesting if true.

Even with the front 3 as it currently is, I'd like us to bring in a creative midfielder to replace Coutinho and provide a link between midfield and attack when we're struggling to break teams down. Maybe a David Silva or Fabregas type of player would work better than a Coutinho in our current system.

I’ll try to find it. I think he also mentioned something about it in his pre Newcastle press conference. ”We always passed the ball to Coutinho”
