friendly vs dresden right now, 1:0 robben after 15 minutes
the boys not playing as much get some playtime now :)

dresden is in serious money problems and this game will get them around 2,5mio in total, with tv broadcast, tickets etc and we play there for free
B)

I'm sad to see them struggling so much. Playing in the 3.Liga and on the verge of bankruptcy... it must suck for a club that has spent most of its history winning titles to be in this awful situation.

Dispite the DDR having a much weaker league than the Bundesliga, one would think that at least one of their clubs could have grown after the reunification enough to become a strong club, but none of them seem to be doing things well.

well, in that particular case, they had some terrible management in the past and they piled up a lot of debt
some of their "fans" are the worst football related bunch in the whole country and are causing violent outbreaks on a regular basis, which cost the club several hundred thousand if not more....

in general you are right, eastern german football is not doing so well
i guess they need more time same as the economy etc

finished at 3:1
vidal B) and bernat scored the other two goals

game was alright, they have scored their goal so everyone can be happy ^^

götze had one halfway decent 3 meter pass to müller in 80 minutes, rest was dribbling failures and missed passes against a 3rd league team
this guy is so shit, its embarrassing

i don't think time is the limiting factor here to be honest. the days where you could make a lower class team an established force or even title contenders in the top league (football manager style) are LONG over...
smart management, clever transfer policy and a big enough fan base can give you a team like augsburg, mainz or freiburg but that's as good as it gets: teams that (depending on who they have to sell and who they can keep each season) either struggle not to get relegated or try to qualify for europa league in one extraordinarily successful season...

dynamo dresden, hansa rostock and energie cottbus had had their chance and did reasonably well for a period of time but ultimately struggled to establish themselves but i don't think the reason for that was that they're from east germany. with their foreign money, rb leipzig has a good shot at being the next club (the 5th overall, vfb leipzig played in buli for a season too in the early 90s) but i'm seriously hoping they fail again, we already have hoffenheim and wolfsburg taking spots away from real football clubs.

what i'd rather see is a club from east berlin make it into buli but yeah, doesn't really look like union will be able to pull that off anytime soon...

match vs hoffenheim today, they are pretty unpredictable so lets see how we do

line up

Neuer - Lahm , Benatia , J. Boateng , Alaba - Alonso - Robben , T. Müller , Vidal, Douglas Costa - M. Götze

what the motherfuck is this.....
alonso could score 3 own goals and still play
lewa bench and götze as striker ffs

shit game incoming
