Any Bayern winger > any City winger, Sané included.
Thiago, Kroos, Alonso, Schweinsteiger > any City CM when it comes to passing precision + build-up skills, except if Pep relocates Silva's position to C(A)M.

So yes... Bayern had and currently still has the second best squad - after Barca of course - to implement Pep's system.

The only thing Pep was missing at Bayern would have been another CB with the physical abilities and pace of Boateng. Benatia, Martinez, Alonso are simply not made for a position like that.

EDIT:

Don't get me wrong on this one though. I'm not trying to bash City players... there might be players who outperform Bayern players in different systems and formations... only talking about Guardiola's philosophy and style.

Yeah I think he will need to change up his style a bit at city, or else he will lose too many pts vs teams like liverpool/everton and the bigger teams because of counter attacking tactics.

thats why i think pep will struggle in his first season, he has not the utility players for his experiments and not the players to pass your way from your own box to the opponents goal

but since the epl is so bad tactically maybe it still is enough ^^

In Germany he could have played with any tactics and won the league. Hell he could have asked aneas to choose the formation and style of play..

Yeah so basically Bayern did not have the team for peps system since they did fuck all in the CL.

Also 2 of the players you listed were not at bayern last year, Thiago was a barca reject/bench player, and Alonso is too old (and another reject/too old for his old club)

Also Robben does not fit his system at all. His system is to "pass" not to take the ball always on the left foot and shoot. Douglas Costa is a good player tho.

Robben doesn't fit in anywhere. Whenever the season is coming to a close and you need players who can decide a game. He is at home being injured.

I wasn't talking about overall quality of a player, but about specific qualities that help thoe palyers succeed in a system like Pep's.
I know that not all of them played for Bayern last year, I just wanted to give a general overview... also they reached the semi-finals three times in a row... that's not bad at all.

Silva as CM or CAM? Yes, >>>
Silva on the wing? Not even close imo.

Also, I really like de Bruyne, but his greatest strengths are very strong decision-making and precise vision for vertical plays. He's not a build-up player or a passing machine like Kroos, Schweinsteiger, Alonso though.

blundesliga apologists acting like their league is competitive and exciting in any shape or form

It's the most one sided and boring league in Europe.
