Well, tbf England played better in the 2014 WC than in anyother recent major tournament.

Even though the results weren't good, the team gave the impression that there was a good foundation to build upon and that things could be heading in the right direction.

We couldn't dominate Costa Rica, had even game vs Uruguay but got destroyed by an injured Suarez, and got dominated by an average Italy side. Hodgson is a bad manager, if he doesn't get to a quarterfinal this tournament then it's proven, considering we have an inform striker for once.

You were already out against Costa Rica; it's not a game I'd count (not to mention that teams like Uruguay, Italy and Netherlands couldn't beat tem either, even when they needed the win).

I'd say the games against Uruguay and Italy were both even. Definetely wouldn't say you were dominated by Italy... I think it was your best game in years (probably could say the same thing about Italy), both teams played at a great level in what was one of the best games in the whole tournament imo.

I agree that Hogson isn't a good manager, but I think that his job during the WC left room for hope and optimism.

I also agree that quarterfinals should be the minimum goal at least. I think England has a good chance to have a good run. They have low pressure, they have plenty of good players (which doesn't mean they'll get capped though), and many of the stronger teams on paper have weakneses in one way or the other.

You can't be serious, random goal against nomarks. Game was more than a year ago too?!
He's actually a very good player, Van Gaal just sucked all flair and creativity of out him,

The issue with him still being manager is that someone else could have stepped in after the World Cup and helped the team's new blood develop better as a unit (EDIT: Not to mention, using a proper system rather than just throwing names on the field and seeing what happens a la Hodgeson. Sure, the qualifying campaign was basically flawless, but look at the teams that we had to qualify against. As soon as we're up against the likes of France, Germany, Belgium, etc., I think we'll really struggle.

And I mean actually having a good coach in to push us forward. However, the FA...

?? I'm not saying he's better than Kanté, I'm saying that Coquelin's stats have been insane aswell. He's our key to succes

which "success" would that be exactly? and what do coquelins "stats" say about him messing up again and again in crucial moments? that bias...

People actually rate Kante?

Always assumed it's just some sort of an inside joke.

With the current team France has he should absolutely not get a game.

Matuidi, Lass, Kante >>>> if for some reason 2/3 are hurt, I would imagine kondogbia would play.
