say striker A consistently scores 20 goals every season, while striker B scores an average of 12-13/season but then steps up his game at age ~ 25 and then proceeds to score around 40 goals a season, isn't that world class performance?
And are you really claiming that Torres should NOT be called world class?
But looking at Torres' stats from goals alone he seems way overrated...
Apart from his first season for Liverpool, he only scored 48 goals in 3 seasons... Less than Ronaldo or Messi in a single season. (almost every year for the last 5 years)
