Well I do rate Siqueira highly. He was amazing for Granada a few seasons ago, and he was great for this season's Benfica that was just a pk round away of wining everthing. I was hoping Madrid would sign him tbh.
Although yes, Filipe Luis is better (although only slightly better imo), but Atlético is a team where players tend to step up, so I think that losing Filipe Luis but in exchange getting Siqueira and 12M€ profit, will prove to be a positive deal for them in the long run.
The only players that Atlético really needed to keep were Courtois, Godín, Koke, Gabi, Raúl García and maybe Arda. The rest could all be sold for a decent amount of money and replaced spending half of that budget.
It's a shame for them tha they couldn't keep Courtois... although Oblak does seem like he could be a good siging.
