sure, a confident gk should have saved this, but there is a reason karius got another chance after admittedly very bad previous performances for liverpool, and that is that mignolet isn't exactly convincing or top class either, like it or not.

that being said, what a match. salah was incredible again, motm for me.
those defenses though... stones, otamendi, lovren & gomez really shouldn't get any time on the pitch in a top level team...

you're both right about otamendi ofc, i should have specified i was judging exclusively on today's performance. that being said, at the very least for gomez this is true in general.



or, you know, what i said concerning mignolet not being convincing or top class either...
i know it can be painful to face the truth sometimes. i was so certain karius would be able to easily replace him and establish himself as one of the top gk in the league given his outstanding and nearly flawless performances for mainz, but clearly he can't reproduce that at liverpool for some reason.
maybe it's time for liverpool to sign another gk if both of them can't get their shit together over a longer period of time...

What you guys think about starting 11? Have in mind that we have a FA-cup clash midweek aswell.

I’d go with a strong 11 for this as we have 8 days between games and I’d rather see we mix it up a bit in the cup game. I’d make three changes from the City game. TAA -> Gomez (Trent is better offensivly against teams that sit back and defend), Lallana -> Gini (same thinking, Lallana is more creative and better at unlocking defensive sides), and lastely VVD -> Matip/Lovren (obvious reasons).

Before someone has a go at me about Karius - Klopp stated he’s our first choice goalkeeper now.

Stones before his injury has been world class, same with Nico. Both had horrible games yesterday though, especially Stones

Mane Firmino Salah
Ox Can Wijnaldum/Lallana
Robertson Virgil Matip TAA
Mignolet

if aubameyang somehow joins liverpool

liverpool will be unstopable


and firmino will drop back to cam natural position


they would have the fastest attacking trio with mane auba salah
