Hey guys I have a quick question.

The pre-game odds for Atlético Madrid vs Bayer Leverkusen was +163 for Atletico Madrid, +210 for Bayer Leverkusen, +205 for draw. So basically Atlético Madrid were slight but not huge favorites.

However, the odds to win the Champions League were 8/1 for Atlético Madrid and 125/1 for Bayer Leverkusen. So Atlético Madrid were enormously more likely to win the Champions League.

Why is this? Why would the odds for the match be nearly even yet one team is vastly more likely to win the tournament?

Same phenomenon with Arsenal vs Bayern Munich. Why are the odds co close when Bayern Munich are so much better?

Because the bookies know what they are doing when it comes to getting people to spend money on things they don't think they can win and not losing too much on 1 knock out round

homefield advantage is huge in this sport
also
the probability of an upset in one game is better than an inferior team winning the whole thing

Arsenal should be better than Bayern with a better coach...
