Di María and Modric aren't in Isco's position, and in Carlo's 4-3-3 Isco has been used mostly on the wing and as a false 9. Özil would have the same problem if he had stayed because, like Isco, he has trouble playing out of position.
my point is: with özil there would most likely not have been the system change imo. speculation of course, but well, if a player is so good and so important for your team you don't change to a formation where you have no starting spot for him...

Supercopa and Copa del Rey semis are not what I meant... Copa del Rey and EL finals or CL/Euro/WC semis is what I had in mind. The game against Dortmund is the only CL semi game he played properly, in every other one he was invisible and ended up being substituted, regardless of him giving an assist or not that game.
funny how they are good enough to prove how di maria stepped up but not good enough to prove that özil did in fact deliver against big opponents / on the big stage - not always obviously, i never said that. every player has bad days. but it's not like you suggest - that he's always invisible and useless in those games...
i don't see you blaming the defense letting 3+ goals in vs. dortmund and bayern or your strikers to not score more. no özil, despite his goals and assists, was invisible... yeah, he's the problem, better sub him and you're better off...

Why are we even discussing this again? We've gone over this a few times already... the way we see Özil is too different to make anything out of this.
we aren't really discussing anyway, you just make sarcastic remarks like "as long as it's not a semi or final" while i provide facts to prove you wrong but what it comes down to is hater's gonna hate... and given how unfair you're being while "comparing" players i have to say you are indeed strongly biased, which is, don't get me wrong, obviously ok - especially as a fan. but well, just don't claim you're not...
