why mercenary?
i think the reason for him is the coach and the positive outlook which man city has under pep.
for me he is one of the top 10 midfelder.. and he deserves to play for a top team.

i refer to his behaviour earlier when he refused a new contract with dortmund for months, and then suddenly signed a new one when other clubs wouldnt take him, because of his demands.....disgraceful behaviour
if not for this and his injury he would be gone long time

his quality is undisputed

what speaks against it? every player has professional goals.. and there are many players who left their team after 3 years of successes.. (he won nearly everything with dortmund)
his injury was a coincidence.. and coincidences lead to specific decisions.
he had no alternative except staying in dortmund.
