They've been in the shit for a long time now. Racked up massive debts (although they have now been written off) which crippled them for years, then when they finally got sold to this current muppet he took out a high interest £4mill loan (that still needs paying back) that put extra pressure on a team already suffering from a cash flow problem, alienated huge chunks of their once unquestionably loyal fanbase and has sucked hundreds of thousands out of the club at every opportunity for his own grubby pockets.

It's a damn shame, bolton have never been heavy hitters but they were once one of the most promising prem teams hitting far above their weight with a system that worked and gave hope to all the other smaller teams. Now they are a couple of months from death, if not there already.
