Borussia Dortmund midfielder Marco Reus is back on Manchester United’s transfer radar after their moves for Barcelona’s Cesc Fabregas were knocked back.
United manager David Moyes has made Fabregas his number one target this summer as he looks to add creativity to his midfield but has already seen two offers for the Spain international turned down by Barca.
The Scot is expected to come back with a final £35 million bid for the 26-year-old but Barcelona have publicly declared they do not want to sell the former Arsenal man.
SportsDirect News sources in Manchester have now revealed the new United boss is a big admirer of Reus and is ready to re-ignite his interest in the Germany international, who helped Dortmund reach the Champions League final last term, should Fabregas stay in Spain.
Convincing Dortmund to let go of the 24-year-old, who can play on either wing or in attacking midfielder, will be a difficult task for United with the Bundesliga club determined to keep hold of their stars.
The Black-Yellows have shown they are about more than money after insisting that wantaway striker Robert Lewandowski must see out his contract at the Westfalenstadion next term.
Real Madrid’s Luka Modric and Everton’s Marouane Fellaini are also thought to be on Moyes transfer radar as alternatives to Fabregas.
