grats mexico, well played. very passionate defending, players throwing themselves into every cross and shot as if their lives depended on it. i can't imagine how crazy people in mexico are going right now, probably celebrating as if they just won the world cup. enjoy it, well deserved.
as for our team:
plattenhardt was completely useless, both defensively as well as offensively.
khedira didn't do his job either, there was no defensive midfield whatsoever.
kroos, müller, özil all were lethargic as fuck, didn't seem to care at all.
werner ran and worked a lot, didn't get too many good passes when mexico was still trying to play football and there was some room up front. should honestly have been subbed out earlier for gomez as a target man.
löw's tactics exposed again, and this time injuries won't force him to make the right subs like back in 2014. pushing kimmich that far up while having three outright attacking players, two of which could basically play as wingers, is just retarded. yes, he can be an effective offensive tool, but let that be his secondary task, not the primary one. his overlapping runs to drag opposing defenders out of position or to cross into the box can be valuable, but don't make him a pure winger and let 5 people crowd the edge of the box where they all stand in one another's way - that's not worth completely exposing our defense again and again, especially with no proper holding mid and the other fb completely missing all game.
löw didn't learn a single thing from our friendlies, it's the exact same thing that happened then. also, leaving reus on the bench for 60 minutes and sané at home is obviously just borderline retarded, it's like he's paid to lose.
unfortunately i don't see us going out in group stage though, south korea and sweden are just too weak. we'll probably finish 2nd if mexico doesn't mess up, and then get eliminated by brasil, and people will say 'well you can lose to brasil, not löw's fault' or something along those lines...
thats pretty accurate, good post fender
i dont blame plattenhardt though, he played for the first time on this stage
