Celta won, it's over, after 16 years in Primera, Mallorca will play in Segunda

Such a shame :(

Let's hope next season Mallorca can bounce back and be in Primera in no time!

at least you can root for only one team in the Primera now and not 2

I already did, unfortunately Madrid and Mallorca have been playing in separate leagues for a few years already :(

Hopefully the days when Mallorca could finish above Barça and Madrid like in 99 and 2001 wiill come back, but until they fix the tv deals La Liga will be split in 2.

Hopefully :(

Let's see who comes and who goes. Our priority i to keep Hemed, who is our goal scorer and arguably our best man, he is injured until december so the chances of a club being interested in him are low, but his wage is too high for a Segunda team so we have to renegotiate his contract.

Injuries have been the main problem. The team was built to finish 10-14th, and even started off with 3 wins and 2 draws, but then we had 8 men out for at least 10 weeks (including 6 staters), and it all went down the drain. The bench players are terrible, and once the starters came back they were out of form and have performed below their level most of the time.

We don't know who will be the owner either, there's uncertainty in that department. Hopefully we get rid of Lorenzo Serra Ferrer... the only thing he's done well is improve our finances, but he took over a Mallorca that finished 5th in 2010 and relgated it 3 years later. Sure, if it wasn't for the injuries we wouldn't be in Segunda, but it's his fault for building a team without depth. Also did a ton of other stupid stuff, so I really hope he leaves.

Well the most important thing is that the club needs to stick together, Beerschot a team that was relegated this season was announced broke, since they couldn't afford to play in the second devision. the owner had spend way to much money on players/wages/stadium etc etc, now they will be lucky to even play in third division. Their stadium is being sold as we speak. (this is the team that lend Ogunjimi)

Talking about Ogunjimi, do you think he'll come back to Mallorca? could be a big help in the second division for you guys. He really has the potential.

Gio is def not staying in a 2nd division team so i dont know how much his absence is going to affect the team.

Yeah, he's the only player I'm certain will leave (aside from the utter shites that aren't even good enough for Segunda), so it should be ok if we can get a decent deal for him.

I missed your post, I agree the club needs to stick together. Finances shouldn't be a problem, things aren't good in that department, but they are far better tan before, even with the relegation we should still ahev enough moey to make a competitive team. Racing is a similar case to Beerschot I guess. They were in Primer last year, they were completely broke and couldn't afford a proper team, and tomorrow they will most likely fall to the 3rd level (in the relegation zone with 2 games to go).

Hmmm, now that you mention it, Ogunjimi might come back indeed. But if our other strikers all stay then there wouldn't be room for him. Hemed is definetly better... I don't like Víctor but he has prooven more than Ogunjimi and he's homegrown... Alfaro is bad but more versatile, tacticaly useful and with good performances and experience in Segunda.

Not disagreeing with you here, but you haven't seen Ogunjimi yet when he's on form. He's really clinical when he's feeling good. Honestly he can be a big positive player to have on your team next season
