Alsost everyone does. When Cocu took over PSV they were 17th at one point, ended in fourht place. Would have been 3d or 2nd if he would not have gotten sick and needed surgery im certain of that. But the year after he won the league, the year after that he got through the groupstage with PSV. People should stop writing off trainers so easilly, especially when they are just starting.

It's just as silly to judge him based on what happened last week. 3 consecutive games in 7 days don't necesarily mean anything. Especially when the teams they have faced are Espanyol (the team in the worst form in La Liga; who still managed to dominate Valencia in Mestalla and create more chances to win, dispite the defeat), Rapid Wien (obviously a weak side, although it was a massive and solid victory nonetheless), and Granada (last placed team in La Liga). Obviously not the kind of opponents you should use to judge a team like Valencia.

The team has played like garbage for two months, not winning a single game until a week ago, and having some ridiculous performances on the way (such as the home defeat vs Sporting, or the 7-0 thrashing at Camp Nou). It's safe to say that he isn't doing a good job. Can that change? Sure, but we need more time to judge that. Yes, the club is pretty poisoned atm and the team is full of overrated players, but it's still good enough for there to be no excuses if they don't finish in the top 7.

The team has played really well these last two games though. I don't really rate the wins, because like I said they were against much weaker sides, but the improvement in playstyle makes room for optimism and it could mean the start of a good run.

What made Gary more of a joke imo wasn't the dreadful results, but the way he'd talk in his press conferences: praising the effort of players who just walked around as if they didn't know or care what they were supposed to do, and saying they deserved a win when they played like crap.

In any case, I must insist that the main reason Valencia is having a shit season isn't Neville, but the way the club is run.

Sure, they should have set some goals and if they don't reach them by the end of the season he should be fired. Coming in top 7 can be one of them or top 5 even allthough I'm not too sure that was a realistic goal when he started.
