Yes this whole thing is beyond annoying. Gio didn't want to go either. Also, the game against Nigeria was rescheduled, it was meant to be played 2 days later, so it should really be Mexico's problem if they decide to change the date and not their players' clubs fault.
In the end Mexico allowed Gio to join the team later if he didn't play against Valladolid. When that happened Mallorca immediately allowed our manager to play Gio, because even if Mexico wasn't allowing Gio to play, once Mexico admited they were ok with Gio coming late, then they have no right to tell Mallorca if he can play or not.
I thought the rule was only allowed on actual Fifa dates. If thats the case then Inarritu is a fucking idiot.
