Manchester United landed in Bangkok to their usual enthusiastic welcome but against the backdrop of a concerning development in their pursuit of Thiago Alcantara.

It had been thought the Barcelona midfielder had opted to join United after deciding his hopes of securing a place in Spain's World Cup squad were best served away from the Nou Camp. However, it is now being reported in Spain that Thiago has instead decided to link up with former boss Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich.

If confirmed the news will be a blow to new manager David Moyes, who had hoped to use Thiago to bolster a midfield lacking the retired Paul Scholes and for whom the futures of Darren Fletcher and Anderson in particular are uncertain.

For me the choice is quite obvious, United's midfield is shit while at Bayern he wouldn't be anywhere near the first team if the squad stays injury free.

I suppose he's hoping that Pep will give him more chances than the other midfielders.

Midfield of Cleverley, Anderson, Fletcher, Carrick and Giggs has just won the league title in the strongest league in the world.

Well it was on transfermarkt, one of the few sites that can be trusted. Not sure how legit it is at all tho, could be just rumours being posted there.

It's not the midfield, it was SAF and the fact that the whole squad could score a lot of goals, including defenders. That midfield wasn't even top3 in the league.
