Just read how Hoffenheim scouted Firmino. Apparently they first heard of him in Football Manager and saw how good his development was and how cheap he was and then they signed him IRL. :lol:

It wouldn't surprise me. FM's scouting team is huge (around 1.5k scouts all over the world), and many of them also professionally scout as freelancers for clubs. Some of them like Everton or Rangers are known to pay the developers for access to all of their scout reports.

i remember mognac (modric) on pes2006 great potential etc and cheap i bought him every season i made. lol

Coach of KV Mechelen Yannick Ferrera (previously at Standard) uses FM all the time to scout players

you left the part out that they were scouting him before. no club buys a player based on fm. but considering he played in the 2nd brazilian league, that is an incredible find for a european club. probably not possible without fm. you can't start to scout a player, if you don't know him and he plays in the middle of nowhere. tho full credit to fm for the actual find.
