i favoured eintracht over schalke (who i particularly dislike for their shitty fans; their transfer behaviour / history towards mainz; their hypocritical "working class club" image that they tout so prominently; their current and previous management) as well. yes, we are rivals, and amongst the proper / established clubs in germany, frankfurt is probably the one i dislike 3rd most (after kaiserslautern and schalke), but considering how insanely dominant bayern is in germany i'm rooting for the "small" team (who will also lose their manager to bayern after the season)...

let's just put it this way: my 'hate' for them is not so passionate and irrational that it makes me ignore the bigger picture and my general sympathy for underdogs... but rest assured that against any other (real) club, i'd rather see them fail - even though it honestly doesn't bring me as much pleasure as back in the day when i was a more active supporter, since i can acknowledge the objectively good work that was done there in the last couple of years...

ill get you a sge jersey for your words :P

5 home and 5 away wins - we are usually better at home and worse at away games

Update on Mallorca, Zark?

We already secured a playoff spot two weeks ago. We can win the league in around 2 hours if Villarreal loses home against Badalona (very unlikely, but then again Badalona needs the points to fight for promotion, as you can see in the table).

We beat Olot today, 3-1, with a very nice goal from our striker Abdón Prats:

So it's just a matter of time (either a copule of hours, or one or two weeks tops) before we win the title. It's very important that we finish first, as that gives us two chances to promote (the four group winners face each other in the "championship playoff", where the two teams that advance to the final for the Segunda B championship title automatically promote to Segunda, while the two losers are given another chance in the second round of the "promotion playoff", with six other teams that finished 2nd-4th in their groups, to fight for the remaining two promotion spots).

Despite this solid lead, the second half of the season hasn't been great for us. We had a solid 14 point lead in January, but we dropped a lot of points out of relaxation (we had runs with up to six consecutive games without a win). We've been improving again lately, which is important as the decisive games of the season approach. We are better on paper than the other teams from the other groups, but in a two-legged tie, anything can happen... so we need to remain focused.

Mallorca lost today away against Sabadell, meaning that securing the first spot will have to wait. Shouldn't be a big deal since we just need one point in the next two games (or just hope Villarreal drops some, which isn't unlikely).

The team put very little effort today. It seemed like they wanted to celebrate at home, because they didn't push for the draw at any point. Oh well, hope we deliver next week.

Meanwhile, in other news, Sevilla has sacked their god awful manager Montella, and replaced him with Caparrós. This guy picked up Sevilla in Segunda and, with the help of sport's director Monchi's great management, turned them into a an EL force.

Even though his success went down hill after Sevilla (some decent seasons with Depor and Athletic, but then sunk Mallorca, Levante and Granada), he is a hero there, mainly because he is a die hard Sevilla supporter and embodies the very essence of the club (arrogance, dirtyness, rough/butcher play and passion).

I wish he stayed there for longer, because I really enjoy it when teams have managers that are very connected to the fans and properly represent the club's hsitory/culture (like Cholo with Atleti), even when they are cunts. But unfortunately he will only coach Sevilla until the end of season... and he's going to do it for free, out of love for he club, which is nice.
