arsenal will formally announce the signing of Olivier Giroud after Euro 2012.

According to France Football, a deal to take the French international to the Emirates has been completed. The only formality left is to announce the deal and it has been agreed that this will be done once the tournament is over.

Giroud, 25, has scored 33 goals in 71 league matches for Montpelier, who won Ligue 1 this season.

His goalscoring prowess this term - in which he scored 21 for the champions - alerted Europe's top clubs. But once Arsene Wenger announced his interest, Giroud had eyes only for Arsenal and the transfer is set to be announced by the end of the month.

It is understood Giroud will sign a four-year contract in a deal worth around £12m.
