I'm expecting a good season from you guys. Unlike most of the strongest teams, you've been working on this project for longer, and I believe that will give you the edge above at least some of them. I'd put my money in top 3... hopefully you don't disappoint.

I'm really happy with the win ofc, but I can't help thinking we are showing the same frailties we have been showing for 3 years now. We can't put 4 goals past every team or only turn up for the 2nd half and expect to finish top 4. I'm hoping that if/when Klopp signs a solid LB before the transfer window closes and Karius comes back, some of those issues will be addressed.

However, despite my reservations I do acknowledge we have a better team than last year, and that combined with no Europa league football means we are in a fairly strong position.

Benteke off to Palace for £27m + add ons, not bad! We only lost about £5m which is negligible in the grand scheme of things. Best of luck to Benteke at Palace, he's a really good player and I hope it works out for him.

Seeing that the transfer sums have blown up into comedy, the real loss should equal about 10-15m

I actually think he is worth a lot really. He's 25, has 4 years premier league experience, and is a proven 15-20 goals a season striker if he plays. I think he'll save Palace from relegation.
