1-1 draw vs Beerschot. Decent result but point wise not good at all.

Mallorca demolished Llagostera with a 4-0 score today.

Llagostera is a very small club. Despite them miraculously making it to Segunda for a brief spell a couple of seasons ago, they are basically a 5th level club and even being in Segunda B is a success for them. However, they have a pretty competent team that should keep them away from relegation and they hadn't scored a single goal away from home until now, so it's great that we managed to net four. I couldn't watch the game because I've been away, but apparently we were very superior and it was a very deserved result.

And the best news today is that Elche drew at home against Atlético Baleares, so we're top of the league with a 2 point lead over them B)

looking good zark ^_^

Apparently, they have a "printer" for grass. Not quite sure how it works but I read up on it a while back. Will see if I can find the article.

Mallorca will be playing away against Alcoyano tomorrow.

What would be an accurate description of Alcoyano? Well, I guess it would be a 3rd level club that almost always fights for promotion to Segunda, but almost never makes it. They are a typical Segunda B club, having spent their entire history in this division, except for their glorious 40s and 50s (where they played in Segunda, and even briefly in Primera), and their disastrous late 90s and early 00s (where they dropped to the 4th level).

So yeah, they're always one of the strongest teams in the group, and a tough nut to crack with all that experience in the division. However, their start so far this season has been underwhelming, with only 1 win in 6 games. But tbf they've also only lost 1 as well, showing that they are really hard to beat.

This will probably be a tough one for Mallorca, and one of those away games where a draw normally leaves you satisfied... but we since we have a the better team and we're in good form, we should fight for the victory.

Bonus trivia: When Alcoyano had their brief spell in Primera, they gained a reputation for their fighting spirit, even when they were being demolished by better teams and they were down by 4 or 5 goals. We have a saying here in Spain, that jokingly goes like this: "you've got more spirit than Alcoyano, which would ask the referee for extra time to try and turn around a 10-0 loss"... we use it when someone stubbornly goes on with a lost case, thinking that they will manage to turn things to his/her favour dispite it being pretty much impossible.
