looking really good for your boys but i wouldn't put too much hope in mainz, cologne is clearly the better team this season, they play at home, and they still have (very realistic) hopes to make it past freiburg.

better make sure you get that one point you need at home against leverkusen and rely on bayern not giving points away easy (in that regard their match today should give you some hope but then again, that was much about pride and bragging rights i guess, and putting leipzig in their place - so i'm not 100% sure they will go full force against freiburg)...

still, i fully expect your boys to play europa league next season and hope you will do better than we did (result wise, i still think we played reasonably well and were rather unlucky to be eliminated that early) this year. you should have the financial means to keep your key players i guess, and from what i can tell (obviously not following berlin as closely as my boys) there's no player so outstanding that you have to fear a big club picking him up and immediately lowering your quality significantly, right?

Mallorca lost today away against Valladolid. 2-1, with a non existent penalty against us, but we apparently played really bad and deserved to lose (I couldn't watch the game).

The result isn't unexpected and this was probably our hardest game left (although our last game, home against Getafe won't be easy either). 4 games left and we're 4 points below the safety line. Our next two games are home games against Almería (also fighting to avoid relegation) and Numancia (their season is pretty much over), and then we have an away game against last placed Mirandés (they will most likely be relegated by then). It's very important that we win these 3 games... if we don't it will be very unlikely that we can avoid relegation.

Ochoa, with 80 goals conceded, is now the keeper that has conceded the most goals ever in a single Liga season

But the best part is that he's also the keeper that has made the most saves this season, with 30 more than the second placed keeper (Adán, from Betis)

Just goes to show how utter shit Granada are. And as expected Tony Adams has just made things worse and become Gary Neville 2.0... so far 0/18 points... and now they are last placed after losing today to Osasuna, which had been last since pretty much the beginning of the season.

Mallorca's historical rival, Atlético Baleares, has finished 4th in their group of the 3rd level, meaning that they will be in the promotion playoffs. They've done so sneakily, after spending the whole season in the middle of the table. They have an amazing team for the third level, but their terrible manager was holding them back, and it asn't until they sacked him two months ago that they skyrocketed and played at their expected potential.

The germans here might be interested to know that the fired manager was Christian Ziege. He was such a good LB back in the day, but I have to say he is garbage as a manager. He spent 2 seasons with what is possibly the best team out of the 4 groups of the 3rd levels and yet he not only failed to promote, but also made the team finish in the middle of the table. The only reason he wasn't fired earlier is because he's personal friends with fellow countryman club president Ingo Volckmann. Seriously, he did a terrible job and had more than enough time, money and backing to do way better... the moment he was finally sacked the team took off.

But to the point now. Under normal circumstances I would be totally ok with Atlético Baleares promoting to Segunda. It would be very nice to see the city of Palma to have a derby after over 30 years without one. Even though Mallorca was always the bigger club (Baleares has never played in Primera) there have been times when the difference wasn't big and this rivalry used to be really heated until the early 80s when Mallorca completely took off and returned to Primera and Baleares sunk in the 3rd, 4th and even 5th level. But the bad thing is that if Mallorca relegates and Baleares promotes, it would be a huge humiliation for us. Even in our darkest times in the 3rd level and the two seasons we spent in the 4th level (only time we ever hit that low), we've always been at least in the same division above them... being below them would be awful. We don't really care about them, but they really hate us and would constantly remind us and troll us about them being "the number one club in the island" every day. Don't want to go through that bullshit :P

So, I'd be happy if we could have a derby in Segunda next season... but if we relegate then I hope Baleares fails in their promotion. In any case, let's just not fuck up, so we can stay in Segunda and not worry about this :D
