regarding reus: it's embarrassing that it took authorities so long to figure it out in the first place but when they did he was treated like anyone else would have been - which is according to the law. first big difference!
also, he was driving without a license which resulted in some speeding tickets. don't get me wrong, this is a crime which should not be taken lightly and definitely be punished -
but dui is so much worse imo and let's not forget it resulted in a crash involving another car and since you like your "could" so much: this could easily have resulted in deaths...
and plz don't try to make this about "judging vidal" - that was never the point. what i find ridiculous is that he gets away with it like that. i even believe him when he says he's sorry (at the very least about hurting his girlfriend and about crashing his ferrari) but trying to intimidate the policemen arresting him and lying at his press conference (no way you have a blood alcohol of .12 - .15% from "two drinks") should make you wonder how genuine his apology really is...
again, no way a german, english or dutch football player would have gotten away with it like that - and i'm pretty sure you know that. so stop pretending they would have just to justify your initial statement, that's ridiculous...
Reus case was similar if not worse.
First of all, he simply ignored the rules about having a driver license on several occasions which could have killed another.
Secondly, he speeded while doing it on several occasions, aka higher chances of killing a few.
Not like he was cruising and wasnt actually something to care about.
If i were driving through deutschland, i wouldn rather have him imprisoned.
