You're the kind of guy who, if someone were to say "nice car, bro", would adjust his thick glasses and reply "actually - this is a SPORTS CAR, not a car you fool". Although this might have been a bad example since I can't imagine you ever owning anything that even resembles a nice sports car.
(Note that I intentionally used "bro" in my example because it is a term I expect you to be more familiar with than with the word "mate" - to not confuse you any further. Be aware though, I mean brother not in a sense of sibling, offspring from the same parents, but rather as another word for "buddy" or "pal" - ironically of course.) Damn, it's really hard to dumb this shit down enough for you, haha.
