Yeah Vertonghen had a good game, but personally I prefer full backs with speed rather than bulkiness and height. To be fair, Vertonghen is not slow at all, but Alderweid definitely is.

It means the overlapping runs are done by fellaini and co. instead of the fullbacks. Let's USA counter them easily throughout the middle, you saw Dempsey have 20 yards of space to run at because of this imo
