Mallorca will be playing home against Cádiz today.

This will be hard, they're in good form and their new owners that took over in the summer have built a solid team that is expected to fight for promotion (even though the official goal is to promote in 2-3 seasons). I have faith though since we're playing home and we got most of our players back.

Yep, shit season so far. At first we were playing really, really well but we missed all our chances. That made us lose a lot of points, which led to a loss of confidence, which led to playing bad and losing even more points.

Now we're doing better, although we're only winning home games. Even though we're not playing as well as in the first two months of the season, the seems to have regained some confidence under the new manager, and our main striker (who was signed this summer at age 34 and struggling with injuries) has now regained form and is able to start for us. He has scored in the last 4 games, so I'm happy with that. He's the typical slow physical tank with good finishing... if only he had been fit when we were playing well at the beginning of the season. Had he been there to finish all those chances we'd probably be in a much better position now...

did anyone keep up with bojan krkic? he just joined us on loan from stoke city (where he barely played btw) to replace malli, who we sold to wolfsburg.
was surprised to read he's "only" 26, seems like he's been around forever, i just know he was once hyped as a huge talend, a future superstar but didn't quite make it.

i just assume, based on how we usually do business, that we have a buyout clause (if so, somewhere around € 8-9 million), but i'm not sure about that.

Spanish Marko Marin, he even has the yugoslav background...

A once an overhyped kid with a great record in youth competitions that has developed into an ever invisible player, aside from the rare good game. There's a reason why he has played for so many different clubs and none of them have wanted to keep him.

For your boys' sake I hope I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure he will flop. He doesn't have the physical qualities to perform well in any top league (he couldn't even keep up in the Netherlands!), let alone one as intense as the Bundesliga.

to be perfectly honest, i'm not even disappointed or surprised to read this. his transfer history looks like a steady decline in quality.
rather unusual for us to sign a "name" and not a young talent but then again, we lost our transfer mastermind to schalke.

anyway, i'm glad it's just a loan and who knows, maybe he'll prove all of us wrong but i can't say i'm too hopeful as of now. thx for the info, mate.

Yeah, well gl with him. Would of course love it if he miraculously achieved the potential people said he had. Another problem with him is his mentality. Not sure if he's changed in that regard, but when he was 17 and in the 30 man shortlist for the Euro, he asked Luis Aragonés to not call him because he didn't feel ready for such an event. Cheers to him for being honest about it, but it kind of shows lack of ambition and self confidence... any normal player would be doing whatever it takes to be ready for a big international tournament.

Bojan was great for Stoke, but only in bursts. Too many injuries made him so inconsistent. It really is a shame because he does have the ability to be a good player. If he can stay fit a length of time I'm sure he'll do alright.

You're not great if you're inconsistent. That's the problem, he lacks the physique of a professional player... games take a huge toll on his body, and he can never perform well on a consistent basis because of that.

Against kids he was amazing because of his great technical abilities, but as soon as he started playing against adults he flopped.
