Mallorca will be playing home against Sevilla Atlético (Sevilla's B team) today.
Sevilla Atlético is probably the biggest surprise in Segunda so far. It was expected that, like most b-teams that make it here, they'd have a very hard time in Segunda... but not at all. At least so far they've played some very nice offensive football and have climbed up to 2nd place (they'd be promoting to Primera if they weren't a b-team); only Levante's far superior squad remains ahead of them in the table.
Needless to say, this is going to be a hard game for us. But playing home and after that away win last week, I think we can take the 3 points. That has got to be the goal at least, it's time to jump to playoff positions!
Mallorca 2 - 2 Sevilla Atlético
Very enjoyable game. Both teams displayed great football and the result could have gone either way. We were down 0-2 and then we made a comeback to draw, but despite this roller coaster result, it was a pretty balanced game throughout the full 90 mins.
I was hoping for a win, but given the opposition's outstanding form so far and the fact that we really played our hearts out, I'll take the point.
We have 4 more games until the xmas break. 3 of them are away, so it's going to be a tough run. The goal here is to remain in the fight for the playoff spots before the transfer window opens (we're currently 2 points behind), so something like earning half the points would probably be decent considering how tight the table is.
