We create a lot of chances, but our forwards miss all the time (weak shots or awful accuracy... we've missed 3 open goal chances already). The problem is we only have 2 proper strikers, one of them is struggling with fitness and injuries, and the other one is just a kid with no senior experience. The club says they are searching the market for a free agent, but the budget is only 200k€ and it's hard to find a good goal scorer willing to accept that salary.

There are some well known names in the free agent market atm... Klose, Chamakh, Macheda, Bobby Zamora, Adebayor....

Wish Klose would just be a normal german and come to Mallorca to retire :D

If you need someone to finish an easy chance Bobby is the man. Just don't expect him to run. Or walk.

big home game for my boys against st. etienne tonight (in 2 hours actually), i'm really excited.

on the one hand, we have a pretty decent team still and should be favourites tonight, at least on paper. individually and tactically, our players should be slightly better.
on the other hand, we had a somewhat rough start to the season (just 1 point so far, giving away a 3 goal lead last weekend...) and we're historically bad and also rather unexperienced when it comes to european competition.

i just hope our boys can show their true potential and aren't as nervous as i am right now...

i see, so realistically your best chance is that one of your strikers finally scores and hope that'll give him the confidence he needs to score reliably after that...

Eto'o is earning millions in some random turkish club, so I don't think he will come atm. Also, the new owners said a few months ago something like "we respect and we promise to treasure the club's history and the people that took part in it, but we're more interested in the names of Mallorca's future era, rather than the past ones" when asked about Eto'o, which kind of means they aren't really considering him unless they think it's really worth it.

Yeah. I have hopes in our main striker (who is old, but a deent finisher... the classic slow and clumsy tap in master), but he needs to regain his fitness. He's old now, which just makes keeping himself injury-free even harder, but I think he would be very useful if he was fit.

So far we've played a lot of minutes without a number 9... either with a winger as a false 9, or a second striker that isn't good at scoring.

gl today btw

Zenit was losing 3-0 in the 75th minute and ended up winning 3-4
