I'm falling so much more in love with UTD every time I watch a game.

Then why did you say, "every time i watch a game." Please be politically correct and say, "every time i watch the highlights."

I actually didn't watch the game haha.
Just highlights. I was sleeping.

What the fuck. You are giving us real united fans a bad name. I think you would fit in better with the Barcelona supporters here

You're mad because you know it's true - without refs, United is only half the team.

Manchester United posted a profit of £20.5m from continuing operations for the first quarter of its financial year, as it generated a rise in revenues to £76.3m and reduced its gross debts to below £400m for the first time since the Glazers' takeover in 2005.

The club's debts in the three months to September 30 were slashed from £433.2m to £359.7m after it floated on the New York Stock Exchange and achieved a 24.3 per cent rise in commercial revenues to £43m, driven by 10 sponsorship deals including a shirt deal with Chevrolet and agreements with companies such as Santander, Bwin, Toshiba Medical Systems and MBNA.

Those gains and a 13.3 per cent increase in matchday income to £19.6m offset a fall in broadcasting income of 37.4 per cent, down from £21.9m to £13.7m.

The club overturned losses from continuing operations of £5m in the same period last year.

However, adjusted underlying earnings for the period were down from £19.3m to £16.34m. They take into account exceptional items of £3.1m. Bottom-line pre-tax losses were cut from £6.35m to £6m.

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward said: “Manchester United had a record first quarter driven by our commercial operation, which continues to experience extremely strong global revenue growth in new media and mobile, retail merchandising and sponsorship.

“The team has also made a strong start to the 2012/13 season – currently first place in the Premier League and first place (and undefeated) in our Champions League group.”

The club expects revenues of £350m-£360m for the full financial year, and adjusted underlying profits of £107m-£110m.

Broadcasting revenues in the first quarter were down, because the club played one more Champions League game in the same period of 2011, two fewer Premier League matches were televised this year and it received less TV money because the team finished second in the Premier League but first in 2010/11.

United made a profit of £4.8m on the sale of players, notably Dimitar Berbatov and Park Ji-Sung, compared with a £5.6m surplus last year.

The club spent £29.5m on players in the period, down from £47.1m. The headline signings were Robin van Persie, Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell.

The club's finance year-on-year costs fell by 36 per cent to £12.4m. Borrowings were down after the club bought back then 'retired' £62.6m of bonds.
