they've played in 2. bl (south) for a year in 77/78 - it's their first time in the unified 2. bl though.

anyway, great achievement for sure considering they just promoted from 4th league last year (where they spent only 3 years after promoting from 5th league in 11/12)...
obviously they don't have the money / fan base to keep this up and hope to make it to bundesliga but i wouldn't be totally surprised if they managed to stay in 2. bl for more than one season...

well i wouldnt be surprised if they stay in the league...this team has potential even though the 2. league will be very strong next year.

Derby County have appointed former Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson as their manager on a three-year contract.

What a fucking ostrich. -_-

well, if you wanna call red bull a brause club, you absoluty have to call würzburg a flyer club. takes nothing away from the achievement, but mr. fischer did the same as mr. hopp on a smaller basis. yet everyone here is slobbering about würzburg, and more or less hating on clubs like red bull or hoffenheim. double standard much i guess

hmmm... do they have a workaround for the 50+1 rule too? like hoffenheim and leipzig? i wasn't aware of this tbh.
not that i ever liked them to begin with - i just pointed out what an achievement it was. for the league i think it would have been better if duisburg stayed in given how they are obviously the much bigger club with a much better history in professional football and a bigger fan base...
