anyone know about this basaksehir club from turkey? honestly i have never heard of them before. when i saw that name in hoffenheim's group i thought they were some random club that somehow managed to finish above one of the established shit clubs in turkey to make it into international competition but when i looked at their lineup i saw some familiar names of (formerly) proper (more or less) players like adebayor, clichy, inler, elia, chedjou, visca, caicara... what's the deal here? are they some new random oil club or how did that happen?
basaksehir is a club that comes from the more southern side of Turkey. They have a lot of support from the communists and heitz meitzerlich supporters as you would say in Deutsche.
The club is one of the oldest clubs in Turkey and is most known for the very first stadium to be built by African slaves, which sounds rough but the slaves were treated very well.
The team has always had big name players, not to the extend of Adebayor or Clichy, but players like Yusuf, Berat, Mehmet, and Emirhan. You've probably heard of one or two of them since both Berat and Emirhan played in the German Bundesliga. If I recall correctly Emirhan actually played with Mainz and was a star striker scoring 23 goals and 14 assists in a mere 30 matches.
