well the thing about the performance difference - that only holds true if you draw an arbitrary line that favours the premier league. when you look at the whole league, it'll tell you a different story: the point gap between first and last place in england was 64 points, in spain it was 59 points. england's weakest team managed to get 17 points, spain's weakest team almost doubled that at 32 points. the title race in spain went to the last match day and the 3 top teams finished within 3 points while leicester finished 10 points clear of arsenal - same about the relegation battle which was decided earlier in england than it was in spain...

again, i do agree about the 3 teams dominating that league (which is still 2 more than WE have here) - it is a fact and it's also true that in england there are maybe 4 or even 5 teams that have a somewhat realistic chance of winning the title but that does NOT mean the rest of la liga is "poor" (especially compared to their european counterparts) which was one of your original points...

it has nothing to say lol.. look at dortmund last season.. every team can flop.. it does not mean that dortmund was on the same level with paderborn.. BUT its not worth watching real barca against 50% of spanish teams.. while its still exiting to watch englands top teams against worse teams..
did you expect that leiceister wins the season? no.. i will promise that either barca, real or atletico will win the season next year.. its very hard to predict the english league.

the games per se in england were much more exciting.. the title race in spain was more exciting AT THE END.

listen, there are many points we already agreed on, several times now in fact (spanish league being the best / premier league being more "exciting" to watch / spain having "just" three realistic title candidates) - but that's not the "point" i was trying to make.

in your original post you stated that the rest of la liga was "poor". i feel i refuted that several times now and presented you arguments and facts to support my point - why don't you present me some actual facts to prove yours? because right now it sounds like the "spain has only 2 / 3 good teams" myth, the premier league fanboys are so fond of because they are mad about the spanish league being so dominant - and then their teams get eliminated by bilbao / sevilla / villarreal...

maybe by "poor" you just meant "they are even less likely to win their league title than smaller clubs in england" - then i'd fully agree with you, that's true. but i understood it as "they are bad teams compared to the rest of the league in other countries" - and that has proven to be wrong time and time again...

in england you can get much more money by reaching a good league position than playing a good el season.. english teams prefer to play a good national season instead wasting power in the el.. you cannot compare english teams with spanish teams by looking at the el or cl.

This

Spanish teams outside Real or Barca are paid peanuts for league positions so they have to focus desperately on the el for some extra dollar

ah, the good old "i didn't even care" excuse... well i guess german, italian and portuguese clubs just don't care either - how convenient for the spaniards. ya, i bet liverpool are thrilled about not playing in the stupid champions league next year (or any european competition for that matter) - they deliberately threw the game...

seriously, you know you don't have a point when you dismiss all the ACTUAL evidence that is presented and base your argument purely on hypotheticals and assumptions...
