i think spanish is one of the easiest languages to learn - at least in terms of grammar. the vocabulary is also pretty easy - at least for someone who took french and latin before...
sure, you have to get used to the different sounds and pronunciations but once you got that down it's certainly easier than french or german (which is obviously extremely difficult - even for native speakers)...

Yup, catalan/portuguese/spanish/french/italian are pretty similar. Grammar is exactly the same in most of cases and the vocabulary sounds very similar or it is just the same changing few letters.

I'm working for a german company (most of my mates are german) and I got the A1 title (is it the very lowest lvl?) and I think I will never learn it...

well, i really wouldn't want to learn german as a foreign language, it's really ridiculously complicated, huge respect to everyone who gives it a proper shot...
hell, even french had me frustraded at times because i had to "learn" it (although it's technically not harder than english but then again, when do you use french in your daily life? english is everywhere: music, tv, university courses, the internet...)

How hard would it be for me to learn German? I speak English and Spanish fluently, and speak quite a bit of French.

I've heard German is easier to pick up if you're a native English speaker.

TBH all depends on how hard you'll work for it, I've learned that German is a language you really need to train every day.

well, there are some similarities between german and english. after all, they are both germanic languages - so in that regard it might be a bit easier to learn for english native speakers than it is for a spanish native speakers for example.
however, the similarity is nowhere as close as it is between romance languages (spanish, french, italian, portuguese...)

german grammar is really incredibly difficult and has many features, english doesn't have: four cases, three genders, inflection... and to each of the hundreds of rules we have, there are at least a dozen exceptions (the very last part is actually a similarity to english come to think of it)...
i'm by no means trying to discourage you - if you have the motivation and the dedication, you will definitely manage to communicate in german in a reasonable amount of time. i mean, it's not chinese or arabic, the vocabulary is relatively similar and the many rules might actually help learning the language. but to really master it, you'd have to study it properly and ideally practice it on a daily basis...

yeah, our grammar really is a pain in the ass, just look at the amount of native germans who cant write 5 correct sentences after 13 years of school

but i agree, with proper learning and some talent you can definitely do it edgard :)
